GOLDSBORO, N.C. -- Like many urban areas, Goldsboro schools
have experienced a phenomenon known as "white flight" --
white students leave city schools for county public schools
or private schools. As a result, Goldsboro city schools are
    100 percent black....

Fifty years after the Supreme Court put an end to
segregation, some schools are still fighting that battle.
Now, community leaders are threatening legal action to
    balance the classrooms.

"We, in fact, 50 years after Brown versus the Board of
Education, are living in a segregated school system," said
    the Rev. William Barber....

Whites don't like DAFNz. White_Flight is the *PROOF*. It's
    not just a few "racists" making noise on the internet;
rather, it's mainstream productive IQ_100++ white Americans
    voting with their feet....

Supreme Court 1954, Brown vs DNA - a total LOOZer -- AN (iq-
    75) MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE (money on)....

  2. If you go to the Georgia department of education web site,
you will see a disturbing statistic. Atlanta City Schools
(mostly Black) have the lowest test scores in the State.
But guess what, they have the highest per student
expenditure. Now why does a public school system that is
mostly black spend more money per student BUT has some of
    the LOWEST test scores???

A mostly white school system (Fayette County) south of
Atlanta (A product of white flight) has the HIGHEST test
scores in the State and guess what? It spends 30 percent
    LESS per student?

Any ideas why this is so???? It is obvious throwing money at
the problem doesn't work. What is the problem?

Cite please. I just did so, ended up on the Georgia School
Council Institute site, and on 4th grade tests, Dougherty,
Macon, Dooly, Stewart, and Talbot Counties had worse scores
on all 3 CRCT tests. Probably others as well; I only looked
    at 8 counties
    gsci.orgreportcenter.jsp looking at
the percentages passing the state tests.

In 6th grade CRCT, Macon county was worse than Atlanta
on all 3 tests, and Dooly was worse on 2 of 3. In 8th
grade CRCT, Dooly did worse on all 3 tests, Terell was
tied on 1 test and worse on the other 2, and Macon was
    worse on 2 of 3.

On the MGWA, Terell, Macon, Randolph, Warren and Talbot
scored worse, while Dougherty and Dooly counties were tied
    with Atlanta.

On the GHSGT, Terell, Macon, Stewart, Warren, and Talbot
scored worse on all 4 tests. On the GHSWT, Terell, Macon,
Warren, Talbot, and Randolph scored worse. On the SAT, 7 of
the 8 counties scored worse than Atlanta for average score.

Among other reasons, because "money per student" includes
other things besides education costs. Cafeterias, school
buses, etc. are part of school costs.

Fayette County (which is 16% black BTW) has only 9% of its
kids eligible for poverty programs, like reduced price
lunches, which cost a good deal of money. Atlanta has 71%
eligible. Macon County has 82% eligible. Dooly county has
    85% eligible.

Title I Poverty programs spend around $1000/kid in the
schools in poverty. A district with most of the kids in
Title I schools, like Atlanta or Macon, will spend $1000 per
kid more just for that one program.

In addition, rich kids have substantial advantages in
education. More highly educated parents, more books in the
home, more resources for dealing with problems that arise in
childhood that can interfere with education.

It isn't race, as some would claim.

Barrow County, at 12% black, is more white than Fayette
County, but gets worse scores. They have 36% eligible for
free lunches. Banks County is only 3% black, and 55%
eligible for free lunches. Bremen City is only 7% black and
    13% eligible for free lunches.

Of those, on the 4th grade tests, Banks County scored below
the state average on 2 of the 3 tests, and below Atlanta in
Math, beating Atlanta by only 1% in English.

Bob, your logical flaw here is examining only the mixed B/W

down the the average score of the black/white combination.

To get the true picture, you have to separate the DAFNz from
whites. Then you can clearly see the shocking IQ-75 DAFN

  6. The legal concept of "separate but equal" is unjust.
However, the current legal concept as promulgated in our
society, including our educational system, that "together
but unequal" is appropriate is significantly more

the "separate but equal" legal doctrine. This same concept,
"together but unequal", creates the gender, ethnic, and
racial separateness that is inimical to true INDIVIDUAL
RIGHTS and INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY and promotes racism, ethnic

    I have been there.

So what. You said that Atlanta had the worst test scores in
Georgia. It doesn't. You lied, or at least were grossly
    inaccurate.

Your logic also states that wealthy counties have

No. I said that wealthy KIDS have advantages, and that poor
kids GET more money because that is the way the laws are
written. Atlanta would have trouble spending less per kid
than the suburbs, because it is given extra Federal money
specifically to spend on certain services for poor kids.

    Quoted message said:

With all due respect, that is a socialist mentality and

What landmark case established the principle of "together
but unequal"? Are children the equals of their parents? Yet,
despite such inequality, a mother will indulge the gross
inequality of her offspring- even to her detriment. She may
even seek to advantage such offspring without regards to
ability over the offspring of others who are merely better
competitors. But then mothers are vastly prejudiced in favor
of their loved ones- no matter what their defects. A common
human failing that extends to kith and kin and clan but that
can have consequences destructive of justice and real
survival - especially in a modern and technological putative
    democratic republic.

Your "reasoning" would seem consistent with that of the
majority opinion that established the principle of "seperate
but equal". Such open lie caused "rivers of blood and
mountains of dead". Mr. Justice Harlan's lone dissent was
far more enduring- but then it sought fact and justice not
    dissembly and prejudice.

    See:http://www.multied.com/documents/PlesseyvsFerguson.html

  10. In the USA, we have replaced the "separate but equal"
doctrine, with the Orwellian dogma of "together but unequal"
which takes many forms including "affirmative action",
"gender feminism", and others. This type of discrimination is
much more oppressive, discriminatory, and based upon racist
and gender stereotypes and hatred than the "separate but
    equal" doctrine.
