If bicycles had trunks, this would be the perfect emergency tool kit. All it needs is a road flare
and some band-aids. I would not buy it for my home shop, though. I do not like notched, multi-sized
wrenches; I do not need a little patch-n-glue cubby hole, a cheap chain tool or a cheap spoke
wrench. The price is sure good, but I would prefer to spend more money on better tools, and only the

If:

--you need each and every one of the tools shown, and --few or none of them duplicate things that
you have, and --the quality of the items is good enough, and --you have the money to spend, and
--you really do enough bike maintenance to justify the purchase, and --you can't find equal or
better tools for the same total price,

then, yes, I'd say it's a good deal. Personally, for me, it would not be a wise purchase. Too much
of it would be duplicating stuff I already have. Your needs may be different.

I just bought this exact set of tools at REI.. and IT's GREAT!.. Over the last weeks I was investing
in single tools, from PARK, and other manufactures.. I had spend about $75 and only had about 3/4 of
what is in this kit. REI let me return all my individual tools and buy this kit. It's the best
investment I have made! Are they top of the line tools? I don't know, but they do the job well.
Yesterday, I used each and every tool in the kit, taking my bike apart all the way down to the
frame. I was pleased with the quality. For a home repair unit, to use on your bike, it's great. If
you worked in a bike shop, doing work on bikes 8 hours a day, you might want better tools - but I
think these are fine quality.

When i get the extra money i will buy it, i have been buying idividual tools lately, i have all park
tools right now. Chain breaker, spoke wrench and some other misc stuff. This seems like what i need.
I guess ill buy it. been looking at for ever now

I don't think I need even this much ability to disassemble my bike. I might use it. Anything I
cannot do with a Craftsman alen key set ( and even some of those ) I leave to my bike shop. They
know what they are doing and IF the problem reoccurs you politely ask them to fix it again.

i have this kit. this topic has actually come up a few times in the last couple months. this kit,
AFAIK, is mostly a mix of Lifu tools. every mailorder company than relabels it appropriately,
sometimes changes one tool or another, and sells it under their name for apx the same price as all
the others.

well, i see it from many perspectives. when i bought it, it was exactly what i wanted. a cheap set
of tools that would take apart any modern bike for just about nothing compared to individual tools,
or the ridiculous park home mechanics toolset.

some of the tools are great. some are absolute trash. none will break on the first use. some will
break on the second. i am happy to see that they have ditched the chinsy adjustable lockring spanner
(pure trash) with an adjustable pin spanner. perhaps it will last longer becuase it wont get used.

as i got more into bikes, i upgraded the tools which werent up to par. bought more eclectic tools
which werent included. and finally, i now work fulltime on bikes, and its a whole new picture. ive
been buying namebrand tools left and right. shop versions make me feel like a more experienced mech
than i really am.

BUT- every day, many times a day, i use the multi-headset spanner on the department store bikes with
no-longer-standard headsets, the cassette tool, the long 8mm wrench, the crank puller, and the BB
spline. frequently, maybe twice a day, i use the adjustable wrench, the 14mm socket (for old spindle
bolts), and maybe some others that i cant think of. i threw out the spoke key, the lockring spanner.
the allen keys and chain tool (after four years of dedicated amateur service) are now my riding
tools. the patch kit ran out of patches, and the levers (although not high end) never broke.

i figure i got full value. the quality of those kit tools that i now use everyday is absolutely
fine. they are wearing out no faster than my namebrand park tools are.

long response. and not the first on this subject. i maintain that unless oyu already have the tools,
its a great deal. dont be confused by the fact that there are [censored] tools in this kit. the good stuff
still makes it worth it.
