Really for running? No. We tend to use the roads, trails and parks for
running. The newsgroup we use to chatter amongst ourselves about subjects
that may, or may not, be directly related to running. It was ever thus,
and ever will be.

Oh, you mean the wind-ups? Let me explain.
Like any good broad-spectrum antibiotic, this group can cure all sorts of
disease. You have a problem with technical training? Lyndon, Sam and
Donny pop along. Mystical running? Oz is your man. Desert running?
Common. Ultras? Stumpus, Freese, et al. Girlie stuff? Mary049, joe
p., Teresea. And so on...
For each element within running there are a number of conflicting - and
usually contrary - opinions on 'how best to achieve your goals'. My take on
the matter is that running is an activity best learned through personal
experience - i.e. you make mistakes, you learn, you adapt, you accumulate
knowledge, you get better. Given that we are not running to survive, but
for fun, I think this process of self-education is a core part of the
activity. Others disagree. So I tease them.

As a runner who uses this group, I'd have to say "no". Does this matter?
Probably not. As long as one person does, that's fine.
OTOH, if no-one understand you, are you *really* asking a question? Are
you? Huh?
