  1. Anyone heard from Freese lately or has the group's grumpy old man shuffled
    off this mortal coil?

I was thinking the same thing about you just the other week.

I expect he's sulking about something or other. Age does that to you, you
    know.

I killed him. His body parts are spread on highway 84 between Phoniex and
    Albequerue.

Yes but on the lighter side, when his senile dementia kicks in he forgets all
    about it.

I had a cat named Phoenix. Best cat we've ever had. He was a natural
predator with a loyal heart and a totally weird sense of humour - or maybe
it was just cat humour. He died of leukemia, aged two. I shall miss him
    'til I die.

You shouldn't have stuck it up his pooper.

I think he usually takes vacation in early August, iirc. But then again,
he may decide he's having too much fun running / playing there and
decide to stay longer and abandon this virtual crew 😉

It's great to be missed. I was vacationing for two weeks on the beach
in Maine ( near Old Orchard for those that care). The cottage has no
phone and a TV that gets one station which I opt not to watch. About
7-10 miles of running a day, reading and enjoying the serenity of the
    ocean.

500 pieces of mail with 475 useless pieces of [censored]. I have to get my
club newsletter out so I be distant for another week. Said differently,
I'll read but pick my topics carefully.

Sam, I love your political guts!!! 🙂

My wife and I were gone for 10 days a while back so he had USPS hold our
mail. Got back and while I am not sure we had that much mail, we had a lot
and most of it junk mail. I am tempted to write to the place that will take
    me off ALL mailing lists.

I appreciate the support of the politics, but it is time to layoff. It
seems there are more threads of that nature than about running and I just
    need to stop contributing.

Maine sounds nice. Never been there, perhaps one day.

Oh it's not that we missed you Doug, it's just that I was concerned lest you
had badly mistimed your demise and missed my race report and pictures. ;-)

I dote on your every word. Gonna make a trail runner out of you yet! 😉
