Irish Television : LIVE TDF 2005 Coverage

Kelly's commentating for Eurosport as far as I know.

Stephen Roche is rumoured to be doing the Irish TV coverage.

Unfortunately, depending who your TV company is here : you cannot necessarily
get ES from certain TV service providers.
TG4 is a national station and is available to everyone.

I thought the TDF was boring😉 Just joking good that you can watch everything!:o

It is - and it is !

We only had the Europsort option until this year.
Now we at least have an alternative.
(Unfortunately I don't live in The Netherlands like you - where I am sure cycling TV coverage is wall-to-wall and very good !)

Way down under here in Australia, we too are getting full coverage (free to air as well)of the TDF for the first time thanks to the good folks as SBS.

Some sleepless nights for me. Australia is about ten or so hours in front of France, so coverage starts about 10pm and will run into the wee hours of the morning. But hey, what else would I want to do at that time.

In the UK you have daily LIVE coverage from EuroSport which has Shaun Kelly who undoubtedly is the worst commenter going around... I have no idea why they don’t hire someone who is a cycling fan who can speak with enthusiasm.... ? that would be way better than a bloke who cant inject any excitement or even any knowledge of the sport from his illustrious career….

There is also ITV2 (on freeview) which has half-hour coverage each night and live on weekends with the 'voice of cycling' Phil Ligget...... he is a legend and is the only English speaking commentator worth listening to.... they also have Chris Boardmen as the 'special comments' man.....

I also read that SBS's coverage in Australia was even taking precedence of the Ashes Cricket coverage (Australia v England) !!! That’s a first ! Cycling taking over a major sport ! For you guys in the US this is like a football game not been shown on TV to show stage 7 of the Tour de France ! unprecedented !

This is the obviously the luck of the Irish. Nyuck. Actually you are all very lucky. In the U.S. only certain carriers have the Outdoor Life Network, which is what is the necessary package. Coverage of cycling in the papers is poor and there would be no coverage at all except for the fame of Lance.

LOL what is it with eurosport and there commentators....I have the dutch eurosport and we have danny nelissen. A lot of people think he sucks.......

SPORZA is THE cycling channel!🙂 (and maybe a bit mart smeets and maarten ducrot on the NOS)
