Bleck Cra on the job again, with pictures this month. You may recall that some kids were rescued off the vicinity of Eagle Mtn in the Mournes early last month. Bleck Cra commented in his usual fashion, however I commend everyone to read ricky k experience .. he was there! gerrym put in half a dozen contributions ranging from the Sperrins, through Derryveaghs, Blue Stacks and the West. Great information and pics in all of them. I particularly liked his comment on Ben Creggan South Top from which he got more of a view than I ever managed. I hope one day to see the whole view of Mweelrea from the Ben Gorms -- all photos with this elusive prospect welcome. mneary's pic of Lough Diheen (in the page for Galtymore) is well worth a look. It's an impressive drop. Michael is a new contributor to MV and we welcome his considerable starting input of 11 contributions. For Coumfea West Top sinbadw sent in a 3d visualisation of the land. Given the availability of the data, this is now becoming a great way to illustrate an area (ok it still a bit techy). If anyone else is interested in the method, give me a shout. I remember "bagging" it on mountainviews site a while back, and noone
else had. It is a bit obscure.

Explanations accepted. Glad you liked Irish Mountain Views.
Several visitors to Ireland have already put interesting content in.
Comparisons with Scotland or Wales can be very instructive. One visitor
tried something very different on Maumtrasna. If you know this western
mountain you will also know that it is
a. the largest mountain in Ireland with 11 corries
b. probably the most boring - having a flat boggy top
His valiant exploits up a wet gully -- previously unknown to the hillwalking
community -- with vertical mossy walls inspires all readers of his article
to this day.
So before the next time you are Ryanairing this way have a look at
mountainviews. The proper address is
www.mountainviews.ie
I'd happily include the ng in the mailing list except that I think many
don't see this ng as having that purpose.

Was in Co. Kerry earlier this year and to reach a number of the hills
meant starting at a farm. The welcome ranged from a friendly yes,
park there but why? to signs stating private, keep out, with a big dog
behind the gate.
So what is the deal in Ireland with regards to GOML signs? I had
plenty of hills to pick from so generally went elsewhere rather than
risk a confrontation but it would be nice to know for next time.
