Fat Americans, apparently, are "news" to the international community of
manufacturers of chairs and fixtures.
What? There are no American tourists in France?
This is further confirmation of what I had feared. That the word on the
inclining obesity of Americans (in particular) has, somehow, magically,
been missed, ignored or refused to be acknowledged by much of America and,
obviously, most of Europe.
If the people whose job in life is to know how wide your butt is, how much
mass/force is applied in sitting down, what is going to be comfortable (or
not) in a seat, if these people outfit the largest cruise ship in the
history of the world, the most important contract they will ever get, with
substandard, dangerous seating, what an mess we are in.
We have been brainwashed, mislead and generally manipulated by the food and
restaurant industry. Now, it appears, to top it all off, the worldwide
education of the state of obesity of the international community of man has
been, to date, a failure.
Next time you think that these newsgroups represent the education levels
similar to the what's happening in the real lives of people, outside of
Usenet, go stick your head in a bucket of cold water and wake up.
