``Many motorists perceive drivers of hybrids as arrogant, trendy,
greener-than-thou types who tend to flout their environmental
consciousness as they proudly display the stickers on their cars,''
said Thomas, the Bay Area representative of the motorists advocacy
group. ``It's not surprising that the hybrid drivers are generating
animosity because they are slowing'' other drivers down.

You could have lifted it out of an article about cyclists. What the
people are complaining about is hybrid owners using their vehicles in
the HOV lane, and apparently driving at the speed limit (it's the
"fast" lane, so it should be treated in the same way as our "fast" lane
    - i.e. only for overtaking). It's unclear whether the people are
complaining about people going "too slow" past slow-moving traffic or
in free-flowing traffic where there's room to move out the way of
    faster traffic.

I don't know about that, but the marketroid who made the Toyota Prius
available with bright green door handles and fuel filler cap should be
tracked down and made to live in Edmonton, on a diet of dead dogs and
    nuclear waste.

In my mind that's reserved for the droid who decided that Prius wouldn't
remind anyone of the word priapism. Or is it just me?

Perhaps it's what they thought the owner's would have after buying the thing?

First time I saw it I misread it as Primus and wondered if it ran on
    paraffin.

Surely that's just to advertise BP

Isn't that getting a bit harsh?

No, really, you were harsh enough already before you made them live off
    doner kebabs.
