Greetings,
I had a lovely commute to work this morning; as well as the normal SMIDSY's from the cagers, I
almost ran into a little bike trap. To avoid a rather busy roundabout on the route there is an
excellent underpass with footpaths for the pedestrians, cycle paths for the cyclists, and even a mini-
roundabout in the middle.
This morning as I went through my normal exit tunnel several of the lights in it were smashed,
making it pitch black, and at the darkest point several supermarket trolleys had been placed across
the cycle path. Just to make sure there can be no doubt it was deliberate, they had been lashed
together with electrical flex. If I hadn't had my Lumicycles glowing brightly and new pads in my
Maguras I doubt I would have stopped in time.
I did take the time to cut the trolleys apart (always have a Leatherman in the seat wedgie), and
wheeled them out of the way. If I'd had a clue where the supermarket in question was I would have
towed them there.
I've heard off road trails being booby trapped, but I've got to say this is something I've never
heard of before. Doubtless I will be proven wrong.
