Interesting ad but missing something

Well, the ad for the BMW X3 in the latest issue of Cuisine
magazine has bikes on top that look a lot like a couple of
Whyte Prst-4's - but aren't. I guess they might be the BMW
bike but I don't know what that looks like. Painted a very
nondescript gray all over with no logos or decals they are
two of the most boring looking bikes I've ever seen. At
least they're securely attached.

Actually, I've just had another look and I can't see how
you'd steer them. They've got dual crown forks on a prst
like wishbone front end but I can't see any way that the
lower wishbone pivots. It's literally just a wish bone
shape with one end fastened to the forks and the other to
the down tube.

Wish I could find a link to a picture of the ad.

Maybe it's a cooking thing.

It is supposed to depict the truck in a wind tunnel. The
only problem is that the roof rack is only securing the
bikes with two wheel straps. No cobra, no lock jaw, just
the straps. I don't think I would want to be behind that
truck. Poor bikes. They're doomed.

My son was getting his hair cut the other day, the gal is a
friend of mine, I happened to notice an add in a mag for a
$250 pair of scissors. If you bought them, you got a free
mountain bike, can't rememeber the name. The pic of the bike
had the front shock mounted backwards, the V-brakes were
facing the rear of the bike! My 10 year old noticed it. All
I could imagine is a group of "stylists" getting 100 boxes
of these cheap ass bikes, standing around and trying to put
one together.

I saw that issue and ad, too. And damn, but some of those
BBQ recipes sound good. The one with the peppercorn brandy
sauce was pretty damn good, and was easy.

Oh, if you like Thai food, Paladin has a Tom Ka Gai recipe
that will knock your chef's hat off.

I saw that ad too - I just was looking at the destickered
SpecialEds on there. I didn't notice the lack of supports.
LOL. It's just an ad. Probably filmed on a closed circuit
with a professional driver...

It's not bad in that regard, either. Getting the proper
ingredients is what takes the time. Out here in the
whitebread, All-American, undiverse Palouse, getting ahold
of real Asian foods is tough. Just try getting decent
lemongrass at Safeway. Or, for a laugh, ask someone at the
local IGA about galangal ginger. Thai peppers? LOL.

And once you are done, this Tom Ka Gai will rip off your
head and shout down your neck-hole:

We have one and a half of those here. All the 'gredients can
be had (even ghee, if yer not bright enough to make your
own, LOL) and the prices are reasonable. Thai chiles are
hard to come by, but they have habaneros at the Safeway
here, and those things are hot enough. They don't have the
particular bite of Thai chiles, but not too many folks
notice. And I'm not a four-star Thai guy anyway.
