Reading some of the other threads about insurance for bikes started me
thinking. I have got a £3000 bike and it would appear that a general
household policy is not going to cover it. I currently do not have it
insured.
On the other hand, I only use the bike for leisure rides at weekends
(rarely get off the bike, let alone leave it parked anywhere) or an
occasional commute to work (I bring it in to my office so again, not
out of sight).
So, when the bike is out, it is never really out of my sight and when
the bike is at home it is locked in a garage meaning risk is relatively
low and certainly not worth paying hundreds for insurance.
Does anyone know if there is a high value cycle policy for just the
small risk of the bike being stolen from the locked garage rather than
paying a massive premium to cover the relatively high risk of it being
stolen away from home?
