That's useful. I tend to shy away from vouchers unless I really can't think of something more
personal, but one could be coming up. He has asked if his fav cycle shop in Norwich does vouchers as
a hint to drop to his mates! They do buy each other birthday & Christmas pressies, by the way, and
really do try to get each other something they think the recipient would like, so it's not really
like the teenage boy equivalent of wedding present list.. at least I don't think so ;-)

I know vouchers and money is boring for the giver but they are good to receive, I think, because
you're guaranteed to get something you really want and you do associate whatever item you get with
the giver, so it is still a sort-of personal gift in effect. But I agree, getting a surprise gift
that you really like is even better!

Carbon tri-spokes mad, as you say, but you could give him a Top Wheel Starter Kit in the form of a
nice hub or two...

EBC do a wheel building course: not much use to you, but maybe an LBS has (or would do)
something similar?

It's a serious point. It won't be long before he want's a faster PB. How to get that? Yup, ride a
"fast course".

Otherwise, how about some nice winter clothing so that he can stay fit over the winter? Those endura
bib-longs that have been discussed on another thread are excellent 🙂
