  1. Greetings all! I just got back my blood work results from my test since
starting Atkins 2 1/2 years ago. I am looking for input on them from the
group. I know many of you have more knowledge of what they mean than I do.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Your results are much better. HDL improved dramatically and triglycerides
also improved dramatically (in fact, is that number correct? That seems
low). There are also some ratios (total cholesterol/LDL or TC/HDL or
TC/triglycerides); regardless of which ratio you select, yours has
    improved.

  4. According to my doctor and a few websites I found, the ratios are more
important than the individual numbers. The most important being the
HDL/Total (should be greater than .25), LDL/HDL (should be less than 2.3)
and the Trig/HDL (should be less than 2).
My triglyceride number was extremely low too.

    So was mine.

That is basic biochemistry. Low carbs -> low glucose to be converted to
fat -> low VLDL to transport it. Fasting TG is almost the same thing as
    VLDL.
