Six-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong has pulled out of the Tour of
Qatar, citing family reasons.

The Qatar race is scheduled for Jan. 31-Feb. 4.

"This is quite unfortunate since we were looking forward to seeing him race here
for the first time," the president of the Qatar Cycling Federation, Sheik
Khaled bin Ali Al Thani, said Friday.

Not news, since when has Armstrong started his competitive season in
February? Never, so why should anyone be surprised. You can't take
anything Armstrong or Bruyneel say at face value.

Belgian teletext reported a juicy detail: apparently Armstong had
negotiated for a private flight from Texas to Qatar, but was "only"
offered a scheduled flight in first class. He then withdrew.

But, but......his press release said that he was withdrawing because he had
to take care of his kids that week. I hope he wasn't lying about the kids.

In this chaotic world full of random disasters and unpredictable
economic conditions, it's nice to know that that some things can be
counted on. Thank you, Brian, for so predictably acting like a shithead
whenever Lance Armstrong's name is mentioned. You are a rock of
stability we can all depend on.

Dumbass -

I think this may be RBR's LANCE Theory of Relativity. In Einstein's
more famous Theory, the only constant is the speed of light, in RBR it
would be what you mention. Hence, on a LANCE behavior scale of -100 to
100 (-100 is complete arrogant ****, while 100 is volunteer beacon of
hope to cancer sufferers):

The asterisks demarcates Lafferty's response relative to LANCE's
behavior.

Einstein's relationship has been dubbed the "space-time continuum",
perhaps ours could be the "Lafferty-asshole perpetuity" (or something
along that line of thought).

Err, maybe someone told him it's not smart to race in Qatar, being the most
visible American presence in cycling. I'd hate to see the guy get blown up.

Let me add something.

What would you call someone who spends a significant amount of their
energy trying to convince others that some public sports figure (whom
has absolutely no effect on said person's personal life whatsoever) is
a performance enhancing drug taker?

Add to that: the people that said person is trying to convince of this
"reasonable" assumption have informed him that they really are tired of
his endless squawking on the public figure and don't really give a
damn. We know they're all dirty. Yet the person keeps squawking anyway.

I'd call that person a loser. Your mileage may vary.
take care and have a nice day,

We all have our hobbies. Mine takes about 20 minutes a day. That's far less
time than you spend being an ill informed asshole. BTW, you have a great
day. Feel better real soon.

Ill informed? I think we all share the same facts. How we synthesize
those facts and draw conclusions which affect our behavior is the
difference.

Ask Henry to explain what a "Campione" is as compared to a "Campionissimo."

To be fair though, you'd want to take most statements made by an
American regarding the Middle East and "for family reasons" with a pinch
of salt, at this point.

What happened to the balance of Yin and Yang?
