I remember those days. Being in IT I've spent alot of time unemployed the last few years. While
riding to work on a nice day I often long for those days... until I remember what its like to be in
IT and unemployed !! !!

it all, I've go an ankle injury, so I've had to cut back on the cycling until that gets better. Not
a good summer for me so far.

I am in IT too, just over a year ago I was suddenly made redundant, the cycling was good but being
unemployed is worrying.

Sadly, I've never ridden a factory bent. I just did some research on the internet, and did my best
to come up with something cheap (£89 plus spares from the pile) and buildable. This is the sort of
thing I tend to do when unemployed...

Shed - a place for kids toys, garden tools, lawnmowers etc. My wife has even put the plastic garden
furniture in them while my bike has stood in the rain

Back in the days of dot-com mania I wondered about that. It could probably have got funding if I'd
done the [censored] bit.

The basic idea was cycle-hire. Not so much as we know it today, but with tie-ups to things like
railway stations and hotels which people may anticipate arriving with transport needs, while far too
far away to take advantage of local information. Existing hire firms and others with the capability
would be encouraged to participate, and to expand their services to include things like
delivery/collection where possible. Then link up to people selling rail, bus or air tickets,
holidays, etc... Promote it as integrated transport, in direct competition with car hire for the
business traveller, as well as for the leisure cyclist.

With a suitable business partner - one who can do the [censored] bit - I'd still be up for that.
