The call was made, OK. If someone told everyone and all what to do and not to do and the person violated those instructions, that would be a basis for dismissal. Whether or not the content was as Lemond claimed, the contact was probably prohibited and the person would be fired for the contact alone. Makes sense to me - I've heard similar instructions myself.

Even in the absence of instructions, such a stupid, ugly and disgraceful call merits dismissal on the basis of poor judgment. ANY call to opposing witnesses would warrant that, much less the thuggish idiocy reported.
