  1. I can no longer get decent Ice Cream drumsticks--sugar cone, scoop of ice
cream that is chocolate coated and then rolled in chopped peanuts and cookie
crumbs. A similar treat is the square of ice cream on a stick that is
coated in chocolate and then rolled in the nut mixture.

Does anyone know how to make the chocolate coating that forms a thin
chocolate shell? I'd thought of melting chocolate chips, but I think that
would form a shell that was too thick.

    Any ideas or thoughts appreciated.

    Thanks

    Janet

There is a product called "Magic Shell" made by Smuckers which forms a
hardened shell when poured over ice cream. You'd probably have to work
fast to coat it with the nut mixture before it hardens, so that the mixture
    would stick to it.

Here is a copycat recipe for it from Recipe*zaar:

    Magic Shell Copycat #73295

1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips
    4 tablespoons butter or margarine
    1/4 cup corn oil

In a double boiler melt chips and butter together.
    Once melted add oil.
Pour over ice cream and it will harden

Thanks, Wayne. I never thought of a copycat Magic Shell. I have seen
Magic Shell in the grocery store, but I wanted to be able to use my own
ingredients and flavors and be able to "dip" rather than use a squeeze
    bottle.

    Thanks everyone for your response.
