I think that some are supportive, but there is so much "junk" in here and
instead of ignoring the "junk", people respond to it, which encourages it
even more.
I would like to see some more interesting posts about people who are 1.
beginning on low carb and have legitimate questions 2. struggling with
some aspect of low carb 3. need advice about anything related to low carb
and 4. have any great tips or new ideas on preparing foods, losing weight,
maintaining weight using a low carb approach, mental strategies that we do
to help ourselves stay small once we've lost, etc. 5. even the scientific
aspects of low carb, I enjoy--digesting carbs, metabolizing them, excreting
them with ketosis, etc. 🙂
What I've seen, instead, it seems, 1. is political before the election,
someone named patriotinFlorida was on a rabid antiBush campaign, 2. some
strange off-the-wall posts by a Dr. Andrew Chung (? if I remember his name
right), various strange posts about famous people about whom I couldn't
care less (unless it has to do with weight loss and gain), and of course,
3. various name calling, insult slinging, etc. and 4. a variety of
totally nonrelated to low carb posts.
But it's an open forum, and so I just cherry pick. I used to read this
site a lot more and still have it linked from my website under my diet
page, but it's going to "go" pretty soon from there, probably.
JMO, from one who has "low-carbed" to lose weight, not necessarily because
I believe I must in order to be healthy.
