  1. Your site goes down in under 5 hours. I see you not only disregarded
my request to pull the Tyler result, but you hvae since moved it up to
second on your left column, up a few places.

I tried to work with you. This is on you.

For those of you not familiar with current U.S. law regarding the
internet, we've all just witnessed the commission of a felony in the
post above. If he makes good on his threat, then he'll have committed
    yet another.

    Right you are.
If the site doesn't go down, I doubt that anyone will care considering that
this comes from a regular poster here at rbr. There might be an insanity
    defense lurking in this.

This was one time I was [censored] enough to do something about an
internet threat. Dumbasses threatening to beat each other up is one
thing and pretty typical, but threatening serious damage to a comercial
site we all use is a whole other thing so for what it was worth I
raised hell at AOL, looks like that was useless, and also passed it on
to our State A.G.'s office, maybe that'll do some good.

There are plenty of destructive hackers out there who try to extort
money from commercial site owners these days. Others do DOS (denial of
service) attacks just for fun. Anyone who operates a commercial site
with significant traffic has been through the experience of dealing
with these attacks. There is no reason why a site operator should have
to deal with the anxiety of such a threat. This guy was warned once
before about the illegal nature of his previous threat, and he chose to
    repeat it again today.

Your honor, my client is not capable of understanding the nature of his conduct,
he is, I am sorry to inform you, a dumbass.

Would you like a nice cup of tea to help you launch your massive dump on

You are of course in the right, but my expectation of action would be low.
This really isn't a credible threat. You're state's AG (Attorney General)
is unlikely to care for that reason and the fact that the target is in
Australia and the dumbass is who knows where.

If he were threatening my network I don't think I'd loose any sleep over it,
though if by some miracle he did manage it it would be wrath of god time
(and with the levels of gov't sponsorship here I could probably mangage
more wrath then CN). I really doubt anyone at CN or their hosting provider
    to too worried about this...

Covering all bases for jurisdictional purposes, he also sufferered from
an irresistible impulse to be a dumbass.

All probably very true, but I wanted to see if AOL would actually do
anything about it, and give Jeff the option of bringing AOL into it if
the "person" had actually managed to carry out their threat. A Lawyer I
know said I should've handed this off to Homeland Security or the FBI,
but even I'm not that big an [censored].

If AOL did read you compalint and respond, they would have handed it to
the FBI. That's who enforces such stuff. Not to say that THEY'd do
anything about it. They might have bigger fish to fry.
