  1. Well, the first 2 days went really well! I haven't had any cravings at all,
and strangely enough, my energy hasn't dropped, even though I've been under
20grams of carbs both days. If it stays like this I won't have any problem
sticking with it. I have got to get down to my goal weight for health
reasons, so hopefully that will motivate me **this time**.

Go Haggis! Go Haggis! Go Haggis!

Health reasons are the BEST reasons (looks come and go) to do it and
    STAY doing it!

You're already wavering: note the "hopefully that will motivate me". What,
    are you two persons?
One that wants to do it but isn't sure the other one will let her do it?
Try this, instead: make a pact with yourself (your brain) that you WILL
stick with it for 2 weeks! No wiggle room and no "hopefully" stuff! Just
firmly clamp down on your brain and say, "I will do it for 2 weeks and then
see how I think about it." And if/when it gets tough, your brain will say:
"I will do it for 2 weeks--no ifs, ands, or buts."
    Period!

You can do it, but you've got to get into it with both feet.

Now, go out there and stick to it and reap the benefits!

Nope. You may have seen me around here YEARS ago, or on alt.fan.starwars or
    alt.battlestar-galactica

  6. Way to go! did you feel head-achey or in a rotten mood on day 2?

I felt great by day 3 and have felt so ever since.

    Welcome aboard.

You know, I didn't really feel much of a change at all, except that my
appetite has gone WAY down. I haven't felt the energy boost yet, but my
acid reflux is magically gone! Last night was the first night in a LONG
time I didn't have to get up and take an antacid in the middle of the night.

Yesterday was a VERY successful low carb day and today (day 4), I went to a
barbecue joint with some fellow Ministers of Music (their choice, not mine
because BBQ sauce is my favorite!). I ordered a half pound of the meat dry,
and a side salad with just greens and ranch dressing. Very low carb, very
filling, very satisfying, and I wasn't in the least bit tempted by the
    sauces!

I have to tell you, NOTHING tastes as good as losing a pound of fat!

Thank you for the encouragement! I appreciate the participants of this
group who are positive and supportive.

HAHA, you are braver than me! It took me a month to tackle going to a
    restaurant 🙂.

I love your enthusiasm and it sounds like you're making great choices!
You're statement that "NOTHING tastes as good as losing a pound of fat!" is
the truest thing probably ever spoken here!
