  1. The book's on the way. So, yesterday, I started w. lots of lean
protein, low carb veggies, and that's about it. Oh, and flax seed oil.

So, we'll see how it goes. When the book comes, I'll make any
    necessary adjustments.

So far, after just two days, I'm not overly ravenous or anything
considering I'm probably eating at a 1500 or more calorie deficit.

Yeah, isn't it great? Appetite suppression is the best part of this diet.

Yeah, I figured they'd have way too many carbs. Beans are ok though
aren't they, like green, kidney, yellow, ...

I'm just trying to make sure I get enough to support activity. I can
see that some days will require a protein shake or something after
    martial arts or lifting.

I started 3 days ago and I'm not hungry at all...
In fact, I'm having trouble getting down enough protein,
but I'm not going to stress out over the deficit. ;-)

Makes your sweat smell stronger tho' IMHO.

    Good luck!
My weight is already dropping so so far, so good.

Does anyone know of a good way to calculate approx how many calories one
*really* needs in a day to maintain status quo? Is the 12kcals/lb what
is accepted? If so then I ran a 2600 cal deficit yesterday? This seems
out of whack somewhere and that is why I am asking.

And of course fitday has me running almost a 4k deficit. :O Yeah, right.

I am having a problem getting the right amount of protien down also, but
I am also hungry about an hour before lunch everyday so maybe I need to
figure out some . I am not too worried about the protien deficit as
right now about 75% of my calories are coming from protien.

I haven't noticed the sweat thing. In the past low carb has given that
weird watered down cat pee smell to my sweat. Kinda like being around
someone who has a crank habit. But, then again, the booklet says to do
moderate maintenance types of exercise, so I haven't been running four
or five miles on that damned machine either.

I have noticed the burnt tires smell in the urine again.

I noticed a difference between going to bed last night and getting up
this morning. I am trying not to put too much into any weight changes
    until after the fisrt break.

So I am going to monitor it, my scale weight, for the first 10-12 weeks
for curiousity sake, but what I am really after is being able to chart
the 10-12 weeks milestones. That and maintain lbm and lift weights as
    much as possible.

    Just messing with you!

My book is not here yet either.
I've got protein at closer to 90% ATM.

Ate 3 radishes yesterday and 3 1/2 chicken breasts,
and about 12 oz. lean beef patties today so far. I have more grilled
chicken breasts put aside for dinner tonight. I'll eat more radishes and
maybe some string beans if I want them.

Thinking about some veggies right now but I don't really want them.
    I'm not hungry. :-P

I noticed your posting on Lyle's forum. Sounds like we can keep up a
regular dialog on this, although perhaps we should do it on bodyrecomp.
I'm starting at about 220 lbs, aiming for 160 while minimizing muscle
loss. I probably won't get it all from the psmf, but hey, an initial
30 lbs would be great. Once Lyle's book comes, I'll be thinking about
foods very carefully. For now, I'm just doing lots of lean meat, low
carb veggies, and vitamins. I'm hoping to wait for any carb refeeds
until the book arrives so I can get the details.

I seem to comfortably eat around 1200 cals a day this way. Yesterday,
I had 123g Protein, 47g Carbs, and 54g of Fat, and 16g fiber.
Considering I had only foods and no Protein powder or anything, that's
not too bad. I can see that you're right, I may have enough trouble
getting all the protein w/o increasing cals too much. Supps will be
part of the diet no doubt, especially when workouts and sports are
    involved.
