  1. My first real knifes. Whoo hoo!

I ended up getting the Wüsthof Grand Prix 5-Piece Knife Block Set
    http://tinyurl.com/68ar8
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002V498Q/104-0419854-5527136?v=glance

Our previous set were an 8 year old set of Farberware that we got from
DH's parents as a wedding gift. They couldn't hold a sharp edge if
    their lives depended on it.

My favorite knife is one that can keep a hair fine edge.
I found it at a thrift store for I believe $1.50
It's stamped on the blade "Olde Colony" and Japan.
No clue "where" it came from. I cannot find any reference on Google.

One thing I also found, while paroosing Amazon, is that Wusthof also had
an apron/towel set on sale for only $9.99, down from $25.00 Can't beat
    that! http://tinyurl.com/4aghc
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002JENP2/qid=1110611606/sr=1-5/ref=sr_1_5/104-0419854-5527136?v=glance&s=kitchen

Along with a couple other choice kitchen items, I got an additional
$25.00 discount promotion, and free shipping.

Can you say, "I scored"? I think you can! :-)

I know, this sounded like Amazon spam, but I don't care, I'm happy.
and I have no affiliation with Amazon, other than purchasing from them.

Good buy - but it's "knives" in case you are interested.

I know what you mean. I am always writing "loose" for "lose" particularly
    when I am tired!

    Congratulations - use them well.

I hope your set came with a steel - steel each knife every time you use
it - like chalking your pool cue.

And if she does every one of the utensils, she will have steeled all the
    kniVES.

She addressed her typo already. Get over it. Read the whole thread.

Once is a typo. Three time is carelessness. Not every post makes every
    server. Get real with it.

    Um, grow up?

If you look at my previous post "Wüsthof Knife Question" which was about
a week ago, I spelled it correctly, more than once. I KNOW how to spell.

Also, If you look at the time of my first post in this thread it was
11:30. I had also just spent about an hour on Amazon trying to find the
6 items I ended up buying, and submit my order. Then after clicking on
the last step in the order process, the system dropped my order due to a
system error and I had to search for all the items again & complete the
ordering process for a second time.

P.S. I only mis-spelled it twice, not three times... Puththhthhthhh!

You scored. 😉 I don't think you will be sorry. I have a couple Wustof
knives I have had for years (15? 20?) and they continue to be my
favorites. I recommend sharpening by hand, though. I have a steel and
    it works like a charm.
