On an hour bike ride at an average heart rate of 130 in 70 degrees and a long sleeve shirt i hardly sweat!!
The same is true this weekend in high sixties and by the end my t-shirt was mildly wet!
I'm concerned as I am training for the upcoming season and as the weather is getting warmer, I am looking to shed a few extra pound while buiding my in season endurance.
I wouldn't worry about it unless it is causing you a problem. You can always wet yourself down with a bottle if you feel insecure about your lack of bodily secreations. Joking aside be sure that you drink plenty of water if you are a bit dehydrated than you are less likely to sweat much. I never heard a doctor say you drink to much water. Last year I felt I wasn't sweating enough on the first real hot day I felt as if I might faint I got so hot. The following ride I was soaked with sweat it was like the day before turned on a switch. Were all different and we change all the time as well that making judgements hard at best. So my advice is don't make something a problem for you until it is one. Its a high class problem you have. Today I stank so bad I embarashed myself when I stopped at the local bagel shop while on a ride. I should be as lucky to have your problem.
Well, if you are moving at a decent pace, your clothes will whick the moisture away...
I don't really 'sweat' cause my spandex whicks it all away, but as soon as I stop, the beads of sweat are there.
When it gets warmer, I can almost gurantee you'll be sweating.
Couldn't agree more. Outside especially without a jacket on it seems like you don't sweat. Your clothes wick it away and the wind dries you off. I don't even get damp outside, if I ride inside on a trainer I need a towel or a fan or both. If you are really really concerned that you don't sweat at all, you can prove it to yourself that you do. Ride inside and watch yourself drip or take a fairly short ride, say about 1/2 hour - 45 min without drinking any water -weigh yourself before your ride and after. If you've lost water you'll have lost weight, I'm small and I can lose 1 or 2 lbs in water in 1/2 hour easy
The worst is when you feel like you aren't sweating much and are pretty dry then you adjust your helmet and the frorehead pad drain out into your eyes! That sucks!
