  1. Well I have almost cut out sweets but once in awhile I need something. but the
problem is with my wacky food allergies I am pretty limited. My body does not
like milk. though I can handle cheese just fine. I used to be fine with cream
but now that seems to be out too.
I was making pudding from cream and eggs and splenda and flavorings. well
that's out now. so what sweet thing can I make without any milk products? not
sure if I can eat cream cheese as I harder ever eat it. right now I don't want
to try it as it takes several days sometimes for my asthma to stop bothering me
when I do have an allergic reaction. I only so so care for jello. any other
    idea's?

  2. You don't 'need' something.

    You 'want' something.

    It's an important distinction.

When you want something sweet... try sugar free ice pops.

very true (G) it's just been pretty frustrating. I left out several things.I
have allergic reactions to almost all carbs. grains, sugar and such. fruit is
    all I can tolerate.
actually any treat would be nice. but I just can't think of anything.

Peach Smints. If you have a Smart & Final, you can buy them there. I don't
recommend the mint ones unless you just really need to freshen your breath --
they taste like medicinal cough drops. The Peach ones, OTOH, taste like PERFECT
peaches. It takes 5 smints to make 1 carb (they are REALLY tiny, but pretty
good. I like the Berry flavored Smints, too, but they can be harder to find.

Snow cones with DaVinci sugar free syrups (sweetened with splenda).

Chopped nuts and splenda or DaVinci syrup. Add some cocoa and maybe
    some unsweetened coconut.

How about making some merangue with artificial sweetener, folding in
some chopped nuts, then dropping tablespoons of it on a cookie sheet
and drying them in a warm oven.

  8. Near the bottom of my health page:

    http://www.delorie.com/health/

There's five links to online LC recipe databases. There are a LOT of
dessert/sweets recipes available, you should be able to find a few
that use foods you can eat.

  9. Oh, and I bookmarked this for future investigation (saw it on TV):

    http://www.sinfullydeliciouscandy.com/

Minimum purchase is pretty steep though.

  10. [[ This message was both posted and mailed: see
the "To," "Cc," and "Newsgroups" headers for details. ]]

I can't remember if eggs are a problem for you so, if not, give this a
try substituting the LC milk with Silk Soy Milk. Because of the small
amount it shouldn't make much of a difference in the taste. Well, I
    didn't notice any difference!

    Chocolate Souffle Crepe

    2 eggs
    1 heaping TBSP unsweetened cocoa
2 TBSP DaVinci SF chocolate syrup
    2 TBSP LC milk
(The last 3 ingredients can be adjusted to taste)
Chopped nuts, type and amount to taste

Mix thoroughly. Pour into an 8" omelette pan and cook without stirring
on a burner set to med-low, or about 3 1/2. As the mixture starts to
set, cover and turn heat down to low 'til completely set. Transfer as
is to a dinner size plate and top with fresh, sliced strawberries and a
drizzle of whatever sugar free syrup sounds good to you.

    CHOCOLATE MERINGUE KISSES by Ishtar

    4 egg whites
    1 t. vanilla extract
    1/8 t. cream of tartar
    1 c. Splenda
    3 T. unsweetened cocoa

    Preheat oven to 225.
Put baking parchment on a cookie sheet.

    Beat egg whites until foamy.
Add vanilla extract a few drops at a time and cream of tartar.
Beat until meringue starts to look creamy and forms soft peaks.
Add in Splenda a little at a time.
Add in cocoa a little at a time.

Put meringue on parchment paper cookie sheet by spoonfuls.
(You can use a pastry bag and pipe them into cones like Hershey kisses, or
flower shapes if you're good with that kind of thing.)
Bake at 225 for one hour.
Turn off oven, open oven door a crack, and allow to cool 5-10 minutes. Remove
from oven and allow to cool away from drafts.
Remove from parchment paper when cool.

If you make smaller meringues, don't bake them quite as long, or they
will be overdry and fracture easily.

Have you tried Yogurt? Many people who are milk/lactose intolerant can
handle yogurt just fine. If you don't have problems with cheese,
yogurt might be ok. There are many varieties, flavoured in many
    different ways.

  14. I dont know what plan you are following nor the amount of carbs you
allow yourself. One of my favorite desserts is.. fried apple in
butter (or in the same pan I just fried some sausage) with cinnamon
and splenda (sometimes I add a few nuts). Pumpkin pie, without the
crust, made with splenda is good also.

Well, since you can tolerate fruit, how about eating fruit when you want
    something sweet?

I don't know what carb level you are eating at, but I remember you saying
you were eating low-carb for health, not weight loss, so I am making the
assumption that these allerges are the health problems you were talking
    about.

If it turns out that you do have some carb-allowance you are trying to stay
below, focus on relatively low-carb fruits like berries. It might help,
especially if your sweet cravings are only once in a while.

    How about some better jello?
Try this with frozen fruit, it's fantastic:

Get a bag of frozen (unsweetened) strawberries or mixed berries.
Make up a box of sugar-free jello (or your own)
Stir in frozen berries (you can decide on the quantity, but I like at least
    a cup).
The jello will set more quickly because of the frozen fruit. When you eat
the jello, it will be super tastey.

My other thought for a snack would be pecans... melt butter in a pan, add
pecans... sprinkle splenda & cinnamon on top. Delicious.

no that's out. I was using kefir (a far more active cultured milk) to get my
bacteria level up. and I finally realized that it was making my lungs a bit
tighter each day. then I goofed and got some milk in something and got nice
tight lungs for the last three days.
I used to get really sick now I just get tight lungs and a bit tired.

I can eat pretty much any fruit. and fruit helps when I get sick from eating
something I should not and missed a ingredient. for the last several months I
had to eat about 6 pieces of fruit a day just to be able to ride my bike.
but fruit does not help the cravings at all (G)
