  1. So we'll be racing without Ullrich, Basso, Mancebo, Sevilla and all those still to be suspended by their teams before the start tomorrow?

    And none have been found guilty of anything - not even charged.

    Guilty until proven innocent seems to be the rule of thumb on cycling these days...

    For 11 months I've been looking forward to the tour and now it's been turned into a joke. What a crappy way to start July!

    [censored] it all I say.

    They can have their little race in France without my support.

  2. i have heard a lot of people say the same things, that this years tour will be boring etc...

    your should try watching it, its been a fascinating few day...

  3. The race is off to a good start and I'm enjoying it enormously and looking for a big performance from Cadel Evans and Robbie McEwen (McEwen being a distant relative).I think it will be a cracker with the big names out of contention.
    At the same time,it must be devastating for Ullrich and Basso,who would have been serious contenders for an overall win.Particularly for Ullrich,who must have been looking forward to demonstrating his credentials without the presence of his old nemesis.AFAIK,Ullrich has a pretty good reputation as far as doping is concerned.
    I can't see the justice in suspending riders where the evidence appears to be pretty thin and the allegations are as yet unproven.

  4. And just as I completed typing the above I caught the highlights of stage 2 and a superb finish by McEwen.Excellent!

  5. Once again, I am refusing to take part in thr TdF in protest about somethingorother.

    I have been checking results and so far it looks pretty much like last year - hectic sprints, crashes and 6km flyers. I do enjoy the flat stages but they are really a bit of a parade before the real race starts. 5 hours of kamikaze break aways with 30 seconds of action at the end. I'm hoping Zabel get number 7 but his legs are getting old!

    I feel really sorry for whoever wins the Tour this year - can he call himself the best in the world? No. It'll be a victory but not a great victory. Best of the rest scenario - even worse than the Festina saga.

  7. As you say,there will be doubts about the winner of this year's Tour being the best in the world.
    So next year's Tour will be fascinating too! 😉

    I can only hope Ullrich and co are found to be innocent.

    2006 = damp squib
    2007 = aweomse!

  9. Sucks for you, missing some great racing. It's only going to get even better!

    Regretting yourself yet?

    Hey who cares about you. I rode your apartheid ridden Rapport Tour a long time ago, and like everyone else used a false name. Your pokey little tour was only a winter training exercise.
    This years TDF event has been the most fascinating for years, which just shows how ignorant you are.
    Guilty until proven innocent. Well that's a new one in SA is it?
    Blift bij mij. [censored].

  12. Without a doubt.This year's Tour has been excellent and I doubt that Ullrich,Basso et al could have made the race more exciting,
    With the benefit of hindsight,of course. 😄
    This is proving to be one of the great Tours.

    You rode a Rapport tour? Once? Wow! I fall on my face with admiration...

    Nice one on the SA issue - please let me know what nationality you are so I can rip you off about killing all the indians/aboriginals/half the world. What relevance does that have at all? Sheesh.

    The tour has have been fascinating but in the same way the commonwealth games are fascinating but they're not the olympics are the? Ullrich and Basso have both toasted Sastre/Landis/Kloden/Pereiro/Evans on numerous occasions...

    Perhaps you should have boycotted the Tri-Nations instead?
    ...but the RSA does have the best national anthem...
    🙂
