I tried to post last week to let you all know that I'm back but my isp wouldn't send any posts through. So yes, I am back, I have put on weight but I'm getting myself back on track. I've had a great week and am down a kilo already.
I need help though so be prepared to see heaps of posts from me. Oh, and it feels so good to be back :-)
I'm going to admit to my weight today. It's embarrassing to have to say that I'm not in Onederland anymore. Still, I know what to do to get back there. -- Erin in NZ 125/93/75 kgs 125.93/1.1/165 lbs

Good job on being down a kilo already. Welcome back to the fold.

I have a hunch you'd be so busy with the chocolate cake you'd forget all about the saw!
Are you all set for your 60 mile bike ride this weekend? What do you do to prepare? I can't even visualize such a trip.

I got out some gatorade since it has been warmer than normal for the 3rd water bottle. Check the tires, lube the chain and pray!!! You ride shorter distances leading up to the longer ones. This year though I seem to not be able to get comfortable on the bike. My "seat" has been complaining - while I have bike shorts, the seams still seem to be PRESENT. I really am wondering if having less PERSONAL padding has made this more of an issue even though I should be clearly riding lighter. But also sometimes the butt just needs saddle time and more time and even more. I have already done two 50 miler's and last week's 56 miler. And in those weeks, some additional riding.
I will be packing my own lunch probably - peanut butter and jelly. Maybe two. An odwalla or clif bar or WW 2 point bar or multiples thereof! We are hoping that it starts off somewhat warmer so that we don't have to take along warmer shirts/long tights and then carry that extra weight for the ride.
Then you look at the odometer periodically and mumble "is that all?"

Now wait (weight) just one moment. YOU who sweat with all that boring INDOOR lifting and cardio question pedaling out in the great outdoors (ignoring for a moment all the Open day boating traffic (and saddle sores)) (G)
Chocolate cake is worth one weekend of both biking and a hike that gains 4,000 feet (1,000 meters) of elevation in 4 miles (6.44 km) and then losing (braking is a lot of downhill hiking) that elevation in the same distance (as opposed to parachuting which some nut wants to do!!! (g))
Any additional questions? (G)

Hi, Fred, My husband started doing geocaching last year. I have brought a pair of hiking boots and we have been to some beautiful parks and recreational areas. We spent a lot of time walking along restored canals. We are hoping to buy an inflatable canoe so we can explore the canal more this summer. You can never tell where you will come across activity points. Take Care Catherine "Fred" <[email hidden]> wrote in message "]news:[email hidden]...

I had the gps out yesterday on the bike ride to see where we were and which roads were nearby and their topography
I have not done specific geocaching yet but a friend has done a few Confluence Searches. There is a web site where folks try getting to all the intersections where Latitude lines cross Longitude lines. Yet another sport with gps (G) Some are pretty remote and others easier to get to.
Yup, hiking, biking whatever. It is all fine stuff. I have a kayak I use very infrequently.
