  1. I've just got back from a wonderful holiday in India!

    I rather over-indulged I'm afraid. Brandy was £1-50 a bottle. And I over-ate 'cos the food was
lovely. I found a place that did banana puris and another that did a wicked onion pakora. I love
indian food so ate local wherever possible.

I did go to the gym once and used some of the machines rather than the free weights. I then could
hardly move for 2 days. I got lots of exercise walking and sunbathing on the beach. (yes it IS
    exercise - I was sweating🙂).

I've definately gained though not sure by how much. I know I've gained cos you could just about make
out some ribs before I went and you can't now.

just done a WI and it says 215 which means I've gained 15 pounds! It's not quite as bad as it sounds
because it's evening so it could be 5 pounds over and I'm probably dehydrated etc with travelling.
I'll try to stay OP and WI at the weekend to see what the damage really is.

    Happy to be home

  4. Sounds like you had a wonderful holiday, Ray. I know a lot of that 15 will be water as well as weigh
in time but don't worry about the rest as that's life and as long as you get back OP & stay there,
    you'll be OK. Elaine K

  6. Welcome back Ray! I was wondering where you had wandered off to. Glad to hear you were off having a
great time. Don't sweat the weight gain, vacations are for enjoyment - home is for reality. <grin>

  9. Glad you're back. Your vacation sounds heavenly. For me, flying can affect the scale, never the
food. I'd trust nothing the scale says until the weekend.

Over-indulging while on holidays is easy to do. Can't say I blame you with all that great
    food around.

I'm sure that damage can't be 15 lbs. That seems like an awful lot for two weeks. Most of it's
probably retained water. Good luck this week!

  11. Wecome back. Of course, you have scared me about going on vacation, possibly to Europe next year -
too much tempting food and I can here the line - it's vacation, you can enjoy and relax the food
    "restrictions."

Hope you get back in shape quickly

  12. Oooh Ray, India! Wonderful! Welcome back, glad you made it home safely and
    in one piece. 🙂

I'm sure your 15 pound gain is mostly water. Good luck next week!

  13. I am so glad to hear someone say that. I went to a family wedding half way across the country
recently which of course meant a half a day of flying going there and another getting back. My body
was so bloated! and I had even been drinking lots of water and avoiding salt. I *thought* there
might be a connection to the time in flight and now I feel that is perhaps truly the case.

  14. Well, I exaggerated a little when I wrote that food NEVER affects the scale. Ahem! But I have
experienced weight gain after flying. Something about the change in air pressure and being cramped
for hours in a small space for a long period of time, I think.
