casualwear, and not sure my wife will go for another

Sorry to say this, but I heard rumours that Moreau displayed some
strange blood readings last summer and that is why he is no longer
with Ag2r. Don't take that as gospel, although it came from a good
source. If true, it would explain why the team let him go.

You have no idea. The argyle socks have already been deployed on a
couple of rides, including the Werbeniuk. I have some quasi-plus fours
to complete the look: I appear to be some sort of fashion victim
retrohead, as if bike couriers suddenly started channelling 1950s
cyclotourists.

This year my favorite race, the Harris Roubaix, will be celebrated by
racing in the wool jersey and the knee-high argyle socks (!). That will
actually look fairly ugly, since I'll be rolling in normal bike shorts
and knee warmers, not slightly baggy plus fours.

I'm now a bit disappointed by the quality of the current socks I have.
They're just sorta long enough and the right color, but not big enough
and they're coming apart rather quickly. My new plan is to check out a
few local golf shops. I could in fact buy them from these guys...

If I was smart, I'd probably just go for red or black (team colors)
single-tone high wool socks, and maybe go nuts and buy the Rapha cycling
knickers. But for some reason, I've got a bug about the argyle socks,
and the fact that they're made for plus-four-wearing golfers means that
they sorta can be had. At this point, it's just about either getting a
good-quality sock that may cost some money, or getting an inexpensive
sock cheaply. I'm unwilling to buy a cheap sock for a lot of money.

I think it means your life has taken a wrong turn when you're looking
for sox on sites like this...
