  1. I'm a newbie to road cycling. I intend to get some miles in my used bike and if I like it, I will be getting a bike fitted right for me. I am wondering which brand of bike shorts are good for women. Any recommendations out there?

  2. Not being a lady I can't really give you recommendations on womens gear - other that Victoria Secret stuff looks mighty swell :p - but many companies do offer women specific clothing. I dig Pearl Izumi and have heard from a few women that their P.I. shorts are very comfy.

Shorts are one area where you really do get what you pay for.

Will those high priced carbon handlebars or cranks make you faster? Not really... But are those high priced shorts more comfy? You bet ya...

  3. I will not recommend a particular brand to start but recommend getting a mid-range priced pair of bibs or shorts and as your mileage increases so will your need to have more durable clothing and more comfortable ride.
When you start riding further invest in a better and second pair. I like Asso personally.

  4. Thanks! I looked around and found and awesome pair. And, I definitely see the need for two pair!

  5. Just make sure you get shorts or bibs with women's specific chamois.

    Sugoi make a nice product.

  6. Welcome to the most exhilirating and all encompassing sport, hobby and passion in the world. i congratulate you on your choice and wish you many happy years of riding. As for clothing, as Jhuskey says start mid range and take it from there. we're all unique and in cycling one size doesn't suit us all, as you gain experience and clock up the road miles you'll discover what works best for you.
