I could have run this morning. The alarm went off and I hit snooze and rolled up for an extra 45 minutes of sleep. I have no guilt. I haven't had a rest day in a while. I awake every morning at 5 and run. Soon I will add riding the fixie up and down the hills here. The afternoons Carla and I do some kind of activity. The weekends spent on the SS. My legs have a constant ache I have not felt in a while and my sleep is always light bordering on tossing and turning. I have all the classic signs of over training. I'm not skinny and I don't think about getting skinny.I still enjoy a beer and cooking what I like. My recovery after a hard effort gets better and better. I am a long way from athletic but much nearer fit than I have been in a long time. I remember the days when I would convince myself, like I am now, that my body is better with more work and less rest. I am older now and certainly not wiser. I force myself to take it easy and give myself credit for making the effort. I am not training. Training is supposed to be work and this is too fun to be work.

Thanks Chris... Were your ears ringing on Saturday? We did a 22 mile SS on Saturday and we were talking and wondering what you, Penny, Gabriel, Gary would think of the trail we were on... It is a lot like Mcall without the elevation... We rode through a burned section and it had grown back quite beautifully... I couldn't help but think how the forest was growing back in the mountains of Idaho.

Jimbo(san) Did the same maybe because I'm on vacation. 3am the sound of a truck backing up and I hit the button, next its 430am. I guess I needed it . Went out riding at 930 am till 10am. Then again at 1150am till 115pm.

I would love to have a trail like that around here. My knees and I are tired of all the climbing.

All of the climbing on this trail is short, some steep everything is do-able... I am starting to get the jones for some elevation... My knees need some abuse :-)

3 am is an ungodly hour. The neighbor's dog sometimes wakes us up at that time...

I'd love to, but I'm going to be having WAY more fun moving my GF's furniture into our new place instead. HEAVY sarcasm. But at least now I get my own bike room! (Well, bike/office/guest bedroom/misc room.)

Nothing like moving to remind me that I would never want to be a mover.

I smell a new reality show. Stressed fat office guy sees some skinny, fit moving guys, thinks it would be great to have a dumb physical job. Give him a week of actual labor and see how fast desk jockey runs back to his cubicle.

Sorry I missed this for a while. Glad you guys are finding some great trails. And 22 mi on the SS is a huge ride.
We have half a dozen forest fires blazing right now around Stanley and McCall. Business as usual. God's form of forest mtce, I guess.
