Quoted message said:I majke chocolate vcovered oreos every christmas. they're the first
thing to go off the cookie and candy plae at my open house. No
frosting, no berries, just a big duoble stuff dipped in melted
chocolate (i do white, milk and dark) and cated with nonpariels to make
it look pretty. people go wild for em - don't knock it til you've
tried. It took me 45 minutes to dip 2 bags of double stuff the other
night, and from that I got small but yummy gifts for 6 people. not bad
in 45 mins.
I'm not knocking it, Julie. You're hand-dipping them in a variety of
chocolates and decorating them. I love Oreos. I even like the commercial
chocolate coated Oreos.
Had you seen the program you might have seen the humor in it. An
elaborate, expensive kitchen, chocolate covered Oreos pulled out of the
package, a knife being dipped into a cardboard cannister of ready-made
frosting and plopped onto each Oreo, following by a half strawberry.
Foodwise, the part that got me was this glob of frosting plopped on top of
an already chocolate-covered cookie, cementing the strawberry in place.
Cracked me up. This gal did a plateful in 5 minutes. Even if they were
delicious (and they probably are to someone), I wouldn't be demonstrating
this for a television audience as one of my "specialties". <g>
