  1. Well I have been cycling for a while, either with my husband on a Tandem or
    just by myself.
On the Tandem we have had some terrific rides - overnighters with full gear
and have knocked off up to 300kms in 2 days. On my own I just seem to plod
along, never really making the grade. This year I have really tried to get
"going" and ride 3 times a week to work, a distance of minimum 14kms or a
max of 28kms depending on time of day, traffic and weather. On the weekends
I have been doing at least one morning ride. I am almost 48. A couple of
months ago I was invited to a party at Millaa Millaa, a distance of 55kms
from my home. If anyone knows the Atherton Tablelands you would appreciate
the huge rolling hills in the area. I actually did it! And I feel fine now.
When my freind picked me up I felt that I could have just kept riding. I am
sooo proud of myself. Now I know it is really all possible 🙂
    Kathy.

  2. Ooops what I meant to say is that I have spent the last month working up to
doing this ride after being invited to the party.

Well done! Gorgeous country. I've always wanted to do a run from Atherton to
Innisfail along the Palmerston. One day...

    Congratulations, Kathy!

By the way - never worry about feeling like you just plod. It's time on
the bike. I didn't believe it when I first got told, but now that I've
been riding for 2 years, even though I'm no fitter than I was back then,
I ride significantly faster than I did after 1 year on the bike.

    Well done.
