Yesterday afternoon I experienced my first instance of
yobbo-leaning-out-of-passing-car-window-hooting-at-me.
It's taken 18 months, and about 10,000km to happen.
I feel like a *real* cyclist now! ;-)

heh! Did you wave & smile at them? I often wonder if they know what
they sound like?
"orwwwroorhhoootttoooo" or something, generally.

A few months back I had a guy leaning out the window and congratulating me
on how fast I was going, I had a bit of a tail wind and was doing 55 km/h on
the cycle path next to the road, this guy was yelling at me saying "Wow 55
km/h damn your fast" it was quite a shock as I was expecting abuse or a
missile thrown at me when I heard the noise at first.

I had similar, with a car starting to overtake me, then slowing to match
my speed down a hill (me in left lane, them in right). I think they were
surprised how fast I could get up to 75kmh on a short hill (all that
ballast being put to good use).

You're right about the haircut, I'll have to start using a comb if I
leave it for another month.

I had a road I loved, Morley drive between Wanneroo Road and Main St, which
is a fairly gentle slope. It has a 70 km limit and the look of surprise on
the drivers I passed was delicious.

hehehe 🙂 ive gotten that plenty 'o times...
that is, until i pull up next to them at the lights and they see i have boobies... then all of a sudden im not male and gay, and they try some [censored] line because they think i might like to come home with them...
on the other hand, it is nice to get some shouts of encouragment when slogging it up a hill from passing motorists 😄
Wait until a group of Japanese pass you in a minivan, slow right up in front
of you and start filming you on a Tandem! They ended up driving away on the
wrong side of the road, running an oncoming car off the road and totally
oblivious to the mayhem they caused.

Mmm, interesting idea ... aah, that was nice.
Now, let's talk about you. What's with all this carrying on? It's not
really of much use to anyone at all.
Have you had a look at http://www.boardfree.co.uk/home.htm . Tell me
what you think.

A couple of times I have had passenger-hoon yell 'HEY!!' as they pass
me. If I ever catch up to one at the lights, I plan to lean in the
window and yell 'WHAT??!!'
