I think our bodies are just like that, you are depressed and you feel

you are a "bad person" so you punish yourself by making your body look

because your mind knows that will definitely make you feel bad and I

punished = bad, Lee, just an opinion

That's something to think about, thanks. I think maybe Carol has it right though. Goal seems so
far away and the food is right there. Instant gratification.

Why is that whenever I get depressed over body image, all I want to do is eat? Why do I want to do
the very thing that got me depressed in the first place? It makes no sense whatsoever. So this is
my next and current challenge. Learn to resist the depression cravings.

Maybe we can work on keeping each other feeling good. Posting here is probably a good start :-)

I eat out of boredom as well. I'm getting that under control quite well. Thank g-d for
    Computers ;-)

Glad the computer works for you, unfortunately I can still eat while on the computer.

It stops me feeling bored and at a loose end and if I do something mouse intensive, it keeps my
    eating hand busy.

I think I am controlling the problem, but I still have my moments. I am definitely more aware now
though. Hunger eating I know exactly what I want ... boredom I tend to look forever and nothing
really interests me. That's when I know to just walk away totally.

I need to keep working on it, although my problem at the moment is lack of control in unexpected
situations. I'm giving in too often.

Keep trying to fight those urges.

Thanks Joyce. My husband is working really hard on making me lose those body image issues and he's
doing a really good job. He even

working, I've stuck to points for 4 days in a row now and had a nice whoosh this morning to keep
    the motivation flowing.

Hey, good for you! I've also been totally on track this entire week. No whoosh for me though,
timing is just not right. TOM any day/minute, and I can definitely feel it ... bloated, all of that
good stuff we deal with. <sigh>

I know all about it. I looked about 6 months pregnant last night...lol...

Ah, but I've learned how to eat munchie type stuff with my opposite hand. <G> I've learned to put
things into bowls though, helps immensely when it is portioned into serving sizes.

I haven't been in many unexpected situations, but even those expected ones have thrown me lately. I
*think* I'm back on track now, and in control ... I hope so anyway.

LOL! You poor thing! I didn't look it, but sure felt it. I figured I was just having sympathy pains
for my oldest girl who is due any minute to have our newest grandbaby.
