" Just letting you know I bought my Single Speed :-) got on monday. :-) got it out of the box :-)
Noticed a Fat dent in the lower bar and nice big scrapes. :-( Thanks UPS :-("
I called them today and they said they are not going to pay on that claim because the bike was not
package properly... Any suggestions on what i should do from here? It was shipped in a bike box
and the frame was padded with a foam.
I just remembered that I forgot to mention something here.I know this is after the fact for you, but
maybe it will help you next time.
Never sign the UPS/FedEx receipt without inspecting at all sides of the package first. If there is
visible damage to the container or it looks like is was re-taped, you have a few options.
1. Have the delivery person note on the computerized receipt that the package is damaged or opened.
2. Ask the delivery person if you can (carefully) open it to verify no damage is done to the
contents while they watch.
3. Refuse delivery if need be.
Once a notation is made on the receipt, believe me, someone is going to foot the bill to correct the
problem, and it won't be you.
I recently picked up a package from a UPS depot. It was a computer case that I ordered. I signed the
delivery receipt and wheeled the box out to my truck. The bottom of the box wasn't even sealed, but
I didn't notice at first. I wheeled it right back into the UPS depot and inspected it after
explaining what happened. The girl also put a note on my receipt just in case. Turns out, nothing
was damaged or missing. But they are pretty cool about this kind of stuff as long as it's done at
the moment, not after the fact.
Anyway, how'd it turn out for you?
