Well this morning, for the second day in a row my scales read 160lbs (my target weight). That's down from 213 when I started LC on Jan 3rd this year. I could have got there quicker had I not had a couple of instances when I went "off plan". Once for 3 weeks while I went on vacation, then for 2 weeks while I was staying with my Dad when my Mum took not well. But the thing this taught me was how easy it was for me to get back on LC. Previously when I was low calorie dieting, a break of that length would have spelt the end of the diet! I did read Atkins book before I started, but didn't look at it since, so as a result I had forgot about the pre-maintenance stage! Oops! I've never really been one for counting my carbs anyway, just eating the things I know are OK. I'll have to take another read. I must admit I'm slightly apprehensive about where things go from here. I don't want to go back to my old way of eating, but I think I've lost enough weight and am keen to keep it off! I guess the hard part of losing weight starts here...

My wife promised me a custom t-shirt when I reach my goal weight. It will have only numbers on the back: 325/190/190 ;-)
Dan 325/197/190 Atkins since 1/1/02 (yeah, it was a New Year's Resolution) Besetting sins: good beer, German bread, and Krispy Kremes

I second the suggestion of reading Atkins for Life. I actually followed something closer to South Beach, but AfL was invaluable once I hit goal. And several months later, I'm finding it to be a great resource still.
Congrats on the weight loss, btw.

Good idea! May have to make me one, and see how often people come up to me :-)

Hey! Congratulations on reaching goal! If you stuck to LC all these months, you'll be able to master maintenance. I'd third the recommendation for "Atkins for Life", it's a pretty good book.

LOL! A friend of mine just asked me how much I had lost. I mumbled "a little over 100lbs" under my breath, and she went nuts! "Are you kidding!? I'd be wearing a shirt that tells EVERYBODY!!!" Sure. How about "former fatty"? I'm proud of my loss, but not at all proud that I ever had to lose it. I wonder if I'll feel more comfortable talking about it when I get to goal? Dan, that'd be a cool idea except I'm in the UK! I hope when you do lose those last few pounds you'll post a pic of you wearing your t-shirt somewhere on the web (maybe clutching an "Atkins for Life" book in you hand too!).
