  1. On saturday morning my friend Morgan and I rode Cowles
Mountain, up Mesa Trail to Big Rock Trail to the top, then
back down Big Rock Trail. This evening we rode up Mesa
Trail to Big Rock Trail to the top, then reversed our
course for the downhill. These are steep, rocky, demanding
trails. I counted one time, and Big Rock Trail has 176
water bars made from railroad ties, some better buried than
others. I haven't counted how many are on Mesa Trail, but
    it's a bunch as well.

Anyhow, I've been very tentative on downhills this year,
since my wrist has been so sore, and my hand really hasn't
had any strength to it. On bumpy sections I have come very
close to losing my grip on the bar entirely. It has hampered
my riding quite a bit but things have been getting better.

Yeterday's ride was the first downhill I have done since the
New Year that I actually got any speed on a really bumpy
trail, and my wrist held up fine. Sure, it was sore, but it
didn't prevent me from riding the way I wanted to. This
evening's ride was even better. Emboldened by yesterday's
success (and lack of subsequent pain) I really let it rip in
the downhill, launching the water bars and rocks, generally
enjoying riding at speed for the first time in months.

It felt fantastic. I guess this means that I am back.

So, does this mean you want to go on an adventure in
    UT in July?

Of course I WANT to, the question is whether or not I'll be
able to. What dates are you thinking about?

you will truly be back when you get to the top of Black
Mountain before me. Nobody wants that to happen more than me
becuase although I've enjoyed getting the top before you, it
simply shouldn't happen regularly and I'll be the first to
    admit that!

good to hear the wrists aren't bothering you as much as even
    a month ago.

That might work. On the weekend after the fourth of July
weekend (whatever those dates are) I'll be in Oregon
visiting da fambly, but at the end of the month I may well
be able to squeeze out some decompression time... Keep me
posted as the time gets closer.

Awesome, just make sure you don't push it too hard, too
early. You don't want to end up like <ridemonkey-ridemonkey-
