That's great for you, Fred. Me, I was scared to DEATH going down the bunny
slope with an instructor holding on to my skis while going down backwards,
can you visualize the horror? LOL to top that off, a guy who went with us
broke his leg so that kinda scarred me for life. But hey, I'm glad someone
else enjoys it. 🙂

I did break something years ago, downhill skiing but survived to tell about it. Occasionally, think
the speed is getting too out of hand, especially on narrow stretches where it might be hard to turn
or QUICK STOP.

It was terrific - the trees were heavily flocked with snow and since it stayed cold they stayed
that way. The sun would come out occasional and highlight a tree or group of them or the hillside
but not us (G)

We don't get snow very often where we live, too close to the ocean. We're just across the road from
it. We look out across the strait at Vancouver Island and are directly across from Nanaimo.

We do have lots of snow in the mountains and it is beautiful. Whistler is supposed to get 10-15
inches tonight according to the local weather forecast. They'll be enjoying that! Apparently the ski
season in BC is opening two weeks earlier than it has in years. Will be a good one for the skiing
community.

A bunch of us used to get together and go up the mountain, take the kids and let them do the
toboggan thing, throw snowballs, etc., and find a christmas tree, but since DH is still recovering
we won't be doing that this year. Maybe next year...

Oh, your husband has plenty of time to get to the mountains, maybe even this year as the snow will
be up at Whistler/etc into April and May. And he may mend even faster than that.

You location sounds incredible - a view of the waters right there - up close and personal.

I lived in Kamloops for awhile about 9 years ago, sure missed the ocean then! Couldn't stand it, had
to get back home, so ended up on Vancouver Island (Nanaimo) for 6 years. Liked it there but missed
my family alot, so eventually came back here.

Speaking of living close to the water... When we were kids, one of the houses we lived in was right
on the beach. The front half of the house was on stilts and during high tides our living room,
bathroom and part of the kitchen hung out over the water. We used to be able to catch fish out our
living room window!

Just like when I was growing up in Da Bronx!! (G) Other than the 3 years in Chicago which had large
Lake Michigan, I've lived on a coast and think that I need that, too. Not quite like your location
