  1. Hi,

I'm completely new to bike maintenance and I'm finding that my Hydraulic Disc brakes are squeaking.

I have a Specialized Rock Hopper SL Expert:

Do you have any tips on how to maintain the disc brakes?

they usually stop sqeaking when you wear them in

  3. They never used to squeak and now they do.

Apart from bleeding the brakes is there anything else I can do?

  4. Maybe swap pads or rotors, but you shouldnt do that just yet. If you cleaned them recently they're also likely to sqeak, for now just ride through muddy terrain on a rainy day so that some sand and grit gets on the rotors. Always worked for me. If the pads are new just ride and wear them in.

  5. I use Muc-Off disc brake cleaner......... it stops the squeaking and cleans the pads/rotors in situ. Its an aerosol and costs about £7. Ok.

bleeding the brakes will not stop them from squeaking
