Hydration on a Rans screamer

Hi Jeff,

We mounted a small stuff sack (about 12 " long, 5" wide opening) to the back of the captain's seat.
A hydration pack can fit inside of it, providing water for the captain. We also have a water bottle
holder adjacent to the stoker's seat and I can hand the water bottle over as we ride.

Other accessories include a cyclometer (of course!), a bell, rack and panniers. Wayne (captain) has
a helmet mirror so we don't have one on the bike. We also have a day pack which fits over the
stoker's seat back and can also be used to hold a hydration pack. There's also a mount for a small
GPS on the front.

Congratulations on the new Screamer. We really enjoy ours!

Is the cyclometer mounted in front of the captain or the stoker?

I have seen quite a few tandems with two cyclometers.

Jeffrey: We've been riding a Rans Screamer for more than four years. I've found the best hydration
arrangement is to use my Camelbak slipped down the inside of my captain's seat. I've put a 1" split
ring at the top right of the seat and run about 18" or so of the Camelbak tube through that so that
the tube rides over my right shoulder. When I want to take a sip it's always right there. I find
that I drink more when the access is so convenient. We have water bottle carriers on both sides of
the stoker seat so that person has ready access. Enjoy the Screamer. Although I've always been the
captain, I've had at least 6-8 different stokers. The bike is easy to ride for the stoker. We've had
IPS from the beginning and that makes starting easier for a new stoker. Bob Rogers - Edmonds, WA

The FastBack System is a good hydration solution for a Screamer; the bladder pack simply curls
around the center seat support. The FastBack also permits access to the inside space of the seat.
The fore/aft position of the captain's seat determines whether the FastBack will interfere with the
stoker's knee - we've not had a problem reported.

It is mounted in front, when we are going fast the stoker closes her eyes and couldn't read a
cyclometer anyway ; )
