  1. Me & my hubby have been looking to buy better quality hybrid bikes. We went to 2 bike shops one selling giant & one selling diamondback. Which is the best?

I am very pleased with my Giant Cypress DX. I thought it was good value for the money and I have a very good relationship with my bike shop.

  4. You really must look at the Specialized Sirrus range and the Avanti Blade range, both of which are widely available in Australia. They are basically flat bar road bikes, not ones with an upright sitting position. The latter, by the way are vastly less comfortable on long rides (and much harder to pedal fast or against a wind) and lead to erectile problems in men...

    Nick.

Avanti are from NZ so there are no currency exchange rate losses. Specialized from USA. Dollar for dollar Avanti will give you some higher quality running gear.

Looked seriously at Specialized Sirrus but the level of equipment on the Avanti Blade Elite won me over.

A delight to ride and Sooo much better than the old Appollo 3.1 Hybrid which must be a contender for the numb thingies award. Rode it from Townsville to Cairns (360k) and had to do a lot of riding standing in the pedals

Definately give Avanti Blade a good hard look and a proper test ride.

  6. Thanks For the input, it is most appreciated.🙂

  7. I'll second the recommendation for Specialized or Avanti. After much debate I ended up with the Avanti Blade Pro and think that it is margianally better than the equivalent Specialized. Either one would be far better than the Giant equivalent though.

  8. In the end, my girlfriend chose the Avanti Blade (Comp) as well, certainly slightly better gear per dollar than the Specialized and a very pretty bike.
Now me, I wouldn't be able to tolerate the flat bars.... Go roadie!

    Nick.
