  1. OLN's announcers were saying at the end of the coverage tonight that
Hushovd was relegated, they didn't know why & would have more news
tomorrow. So what's up with that?????

The most important sentence: "Hushovd ... was ruled to have blocked
Austrian sprinter Bernhard Eisel as both riders raced to the finish
    line in a bunch sprint."

But Eisel didn't protest it seems

    He let the incident go

But that Hushovd [censored] is a disaster waiting to happen

When Julian Dean hit the deck Thor swerved a bit to the left to avoid
the crash and bumped into the other guy.

It was a bad call. In fact Hushovd held his line. The problem is that the
barriers moved in about 50cm all at once, and it made it look like Hushovd
pushed Eisel into the barrier, but in fact Eisel swerved (naturally to avoid
a nasty crash caused by the poorly placed barrier) into Thor, who after the
contact, in order to keep his line and avoid taking out the person on his
right, leaned to the left against Eisel, which made it look like he pushed
    him.

FdJ didn't make any protest, and in fact Madiot said it wasn't Hushovd's
fault. Bad call that may have cost him the green.

You should take another look. All the leaning of consequence,
preventing Eisel from moving ahead, took place before the crash.
Hushovd moved left, more than it would have taken to go by Dean.

Before Hushoved swerved left, he swerved toward Dean,
whereupon Dean bounced left into another rider, then down
    to the pavement.

OK - I have to stop getting Martian TV.
As I saw it, the many times it was replayed, the Quickstep rider came up
on the right, touched elbows, and Dean leaned right and then promptly fell.

You and trg may want to help me subscribe to a channel other than France 2.

You must be watching one of the regional France 2 channels while the rest of
France, DSes, riders, France 2 commentators, RBR contributers (ok, that last
one doesn't help my case) were watching France 2 national.

Eurosport had an aerial view from a helicopter looking straight down.
Was that a feed from French TV? I didn't record it, but it clearly
showed the action. (My recollection of it, is however unclear it
    seems.)
