Yes Tim, Greensborough it is. I'm convinced those lights have a special bike sensor. Over the course of 2 years I think I got the green there twice. 🙁
If this is the Greensborough hill I think you mean, I've adopted a special strategy for it whenever I'm riding it on my Melbourne visits. Never trust the green - wait about 100m up the hill for a complete red cycle, then switch on the afterburners as soon as it changes.

If it's the same hill then I think you're looking at it from the other direction. When you're coming down the hill heading south you can't see the lights till it's too late to adjust speed. All you have time to do is swear a lot.

bahahah! there's 'a guy' who crosses at the ped lights at the bottom of that hill too. I'm sure he waits until I'm in sight, pushes buttin, then twiddles off up cemetry hill whilst i wait dutifully for tram AND lights to let me go. Almost killed me to catch him and then pretend i was hardly trying 🙄 😄
PS remember the ol' dude who was always on the seat? There was an article about him dying last year, with his son sitting on his favourite bench and a crew of tram drivers all chipping in with memories of him waving at 'em. 🙁

Just got home from MCC meeting where they voted up the StKilda Masterplan draft for public consultation, with addition of engaging a traffic study of StK Rd to determine impacts of the options on the table. 😄😄😄😄
