HRM recommendations

I live in Melbourne AU and I have a Polar CS200cad on the bike and a cheap $A50 wrist unit from Kathmandu in their recent sale that I use in the gym. Have had no problems buying from the USA via eBay or on-line stores and shipping into Australia. Saves up to 50% on local retail.

there is an ebay seller with the CS200CAD for $129 with free shiping. That's where i got mine.

Three zones, no, unless you count below, in, and above. 😉

I don't know why the lemmings all flock to Polar....look at Sports Instruments, simple, 5 , yes 5! programmable zones (based on either max heart rate or Vo2 max) and memory in each zone, a few other functions, all one really needs! Be a contrarian.

I must confess to using a Polar (though I don't remember the model number and don't have it nearby- sorry). My spinning coach tells me that you have to get the battery replaced by Polar- that is, you have to send it away (at least for the chest strap). I don't know if that's true or not- I've only been using an HRM for a year now, and haven't had the battery [censored] out on me yet.

If it IS true, then that's certainly something you should consider living in Australia.

I've replaced my batteries several times in the watch and chest strap without any problems. One just needs to be gentle and careful and have a small screw driver.
