Why is that weirder than riding around shooting foxes for "sport"? Or
crowds of people in a ring watching guys kill bulls for fun?
Force-feeding geese to get a fatty liver? Making pigs and calves live
in little crates so they can't move?

That's the sicko stuff.

Eating a dog that died of natural causes isn't what I'd be doing, even
as a protest, but it doesn't rank on my list of crazy things. 🙂

been Taiwan. Just the thought of it makes me sick.

Many Asian cultures including the Phillipines, Vietnam, etc still eat
dog. Plus Native Americans used to eat them. Lots of cultures eat dogs.
It's just a food to them. The Chihuahua was originally bred for food,
not as much as a pet. It's just strange in our culture (Western) but it
still happens in the USA on occasion.

I would think it would be terrific with that dry onion soup mix worked
in then formed into a little loaf, smeared with ketchup, and baked at
350 degrees for (insert appropriate time according to size) and served
with those handy frozen already-mashed potatoes with a dab of sour cream
on top to make it gourmet, with some of those stupid little milled-down
carrots on the side. Don't forget Cocktail Time: Foxtail Time this week
in honor of the hunt! What, a Vixentini?

It is a delicacy in Korea. Who are we to say it is wrong when we eat
animals. I don't believe there is a logical argument to say which
animals are off limits. We eat cows, some cultures not. Some eat dogs or
horses, whereas we do not. Why is one more acceptable and one not? <shrug>

FWIW, my sport of choice is equestrian jumping. I would love, absolutely
love to go on a fox hunt. Charging along cross country and jumping fences
while following the hounds would be a blast. Foxes are varmints around
here and shot on sight, not only because they kill livestock but because
they are notorious for carrying rabies.
