i'm trying to attach bar ends but have run into trouble! i can't get the grips off, does anyone know a good method to get them off (without cutting them because i am reusing the grips)

can someone please reply! i want to get these bar ends on lol. i've heard that hairspray can help them come off but do u spray it under the grip? will this do any damage?

slide a small screwdriver under the grip not too far and give it a shot of hairspray then work it a bit

this could work but be careful with the screwdriver puncturing your grip. and oh, a few drops of water will also do. we don't like to use them hairsprays nowadays eh! -

Use Isopropanol Alcohol or commonly known as Rubbing Alcohol (denatured Alcohol) for removing and installing the grips. Even if used liberally it dries quickly.

Compressed air if you have access to it. Use an air gun like in http://www.impactrm.com/html/guns/500series.html Poke the nozzle under the grip, give it a blast and slide the grip off. Do use caution with where you point that thing though. -

works better with alcohol ( not water , takes too long to dry ) and only use hairspray if the grips keep moving on you - and it doesn´t have to be a small screwdriver most grips are quite resiliant to abuse . use alcohol to refit , it´ll be dry in a couple of hours .

the dish soap will work , lotsa elbow grease though

Soapy water under the grip, leave it for about 10 mins, twist and it slides off.
If you can hold of a hypodermic needle and shringe thats even better as the needle will go through the grip you can then inject soapy water through the grip.
Just take care on the source of the needle!!!
