    Can anyone explain to me why its so effective to split sessions in the first place? Is it just because its what the pros do, or is there actual data to back it up? And what even constitutes a split session anyway? Is it just doing intervals in the morning and then a steady-state ride in the evening, or is there more to it than that?

    And while were on the subject, whats the optimal split for a cyclist looking to improve their endurance? Is it 2, 3, or 4 sessions per day? And how long should each session be? Should you be doing a mix of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and low-intensity steady-state (LISS) cardio, or is one more effective than the other?
