How to measure powdered supps?

Stick a straw in the bag, and suck (not the kind you usually do on a
friday night, thru your nose) until the bags empty, or your heart
explodes. Record an avi of you doing it, and have a surviving family
member send it to me.

I wasnt trying to be cheap..I just thought that maybe there was a way to do
it by volume without a scale. Anyways..thanks for the info.

I left one suggestion in the other thread. I'm assuming that you're
buying in bulk a known quantity, though.

But let's say you'd rather just use a measuring spoon. For the sake
of example, let's assume you bought exactly 480 grams (a little over a
pound). And lets also assume that 480 grams fills a 1 pint measuring
cup exactly. 1 pint = 96 teaspoons. And 480/96 = 5g/teaspoon.

So if the density is anything like that, you'd need a really small
spoon to measure out 100 mg. Now, they make spoons that small, but
I've only ever seen them included with chemical test kits to measure
reagents.

Oh, I just had another idea. Measure the volume of what you ordered
to figure out how much a teaspoon weighs. Then, using a mirror and
razor blade, cut the teaspoon into equal lines, just like you'd do
with coke. I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier.

I emailed custom nutrition warehouse..They sent me a prompt reply. Here it
is,..this is regarding phosphadityl serine.

The powder is pretty heavy (has the consistency of sand) so 100mg will be
very small. ¼ tsp will be about 750mg

so i went to walgreens and bought a medicine spoon for 99 cents. This should
work fine for now.

Actually,I spoke to another pharmacist and he said the exact same
thing...different powders can have very different weight. So trying to
measure milligrams by volume is totally unreliable. Thats why I emailed
custom nutrition warehouse. I figured they would know specific to phos
serine.
A reliable scale would probably cost 200 bucks or more.

That's a serious f'in scale if you are spending that much. JMW posted a
link for you for one of thousands of cheaper options in this thread.

Unless you are measuring DNP or anthrax, there are plenty of good
quality scales, including digitals, that will work just fine and cost a
lot less than you think.
