How much do you spend on running?

Web-tv is about 21 bucks a month.

I'm no longer a racer.
I spend about $200 a year of three pairs of shoes,
another $50 for replacement clothing.
I figure the largest annual cost is increased food for the 4000 extra
kcal a week I burn. Thats about $20 a week or $1000 a year.
Some younger runners have much more voracious appetites and eat an extra
$50 a week.
Most of the doctors visits, perhaps two a year, are for running related
injuries. But this probably cheaper than paying for metabolic disorders
of not running.

I am a runner and I run a lot of 5k's in the summer. I probably run
6-10 5k's a year at about 15-20 dollars a race. I also buy 3 pairs of
shoes a year. I always buy mizuno's which cost around 80 dollars.
Shoes cost me about 240 dollars a year and the 5k's I run add up to
about 90-150 dollars. I usually do not buy new running equipment. So
I would say that I spend around 350 dollars a year on running.

$70 to $80 per year on shoes, .50cents on Vaseline, $200 in gas
driving to the nude beach in Cummington, Ma. $12.50 for my black
leather, studded [censored] ring (with leash). However the $200 in gas is
offset by not having to buy shorts, shirts, hats etc etc.

I have one tatty pair of shorts and two lycra cotton blend tops. I have
one jacket. Total cost this year, around 40 US dollars. I have a
hundred dollar pair of shoes I rarely use, and an old pair of flats I
use often. Total cost 100 blown dollars. I have a Polar monitor which
is eighteen months old. It cost 80 pounds, so we could average that as
around 65 dollars per year so far. The big expenses are the home
treadmill (975 quid) and getting the old treadmills fixed (180 quid).
Cheaper than the gym, esp. when travel costs are factored in, but no
joke.

I actually love it. They get to play with other kids, work on their
social skills, play with some different toys, use educational computer
software, get some exercise, and have some fun outside the house. My son
is always annoyed that it's time to go. And since it seems like most of
the kids in my country are in full-time daycare and I'm staying home
with them, I don't feel bad about 4-6 hours a week of daycare.

Sorry, Harold - didn't mean to start an SAHM/WOHM war. YMMV. My kids
are at school all day, six days a week in my son's case, and I don't
think they need more stimulus or group stuff. Yours might have
different needs. We're both doing well to care for them while keeping
up our running.

Ya know Jane, kids need a break from their parents just as parents need
a break from their kids. It doesn't meran you don't love them but a fact
of life. Harold has good points, park the kids and go have a nice run.
It's win/win situation for both. As a father and grandfather trust me,
ease up on the umbilical cord. The next thing you will opt for home
schooling and really make a mess out of them. 😉

What happen to doogie?

From what I heard, he was arrested, tried, convicted, did time, then
was released on parole with the condition he stay away from anyone
under 65 years old (he's not a fussy pedophile).

Clothtes: a shirt every few years, a sweatshirt every 5 years,
compression shorts every year, a pair of insulated pants for winter
running once so far, I guess that makes $20/yr max overall

Races: only 1-2/yr, maybe $40-50 in entry fees total, all local so no
travel costs

Accompanyment: used to be SONY Sports walkman, now Rio Cali mp3 player,
and need new one every 3-4 years, so now that's about $25/yr; the
music/radio programming is free; need new earbud headphones every 1-3
years so that's another $4/year maybe

And that's about it. By far the cheapest athletics one could do, don't
you think? No membership at tennis club, no gym membership fees, no ski
equipment to buy or season's lift tickets, etc.
