  1. It's time for a poll. Roadhouse has been banned three times under two noms des plumes. So that begs the poll question: how many times can you be banned and still be allowed to come back?

  2. uh oh..

  3. everyone wants to prove something but i will say this, you are really something else when push comes to shove.

  4. My question is, why whould someone need a different name? or 2 different names?

Is it because of shame? Is it because of mental instability? OR...... I have no clue why.

Your guess is as good as mine.

    Hi there

We started using the infraction system thats part of vbulletin. I've never really worried about it before, so maybe my usage of it is wrong?

    - Basically single occurrences of a (mild) abusive post, cycling related spam, inappropriate language etc.. results in a 1 day ban.

    - Multiple occurrences within a 10 day period results in a 7 day ban.

    - Anything greater the ban is permanent.

If anyone would like to suggest ways to improve this? please do so.

    regards

i completely concur with the first ban, i was way out of line with the language. the second one, well, not so much but that is my personal belief of who and why certain users are here. the coincidences are completely see through for myself but to the rest of you all i guess not so much and like i said i'll just shut up about it all.

i'm not trying to get banned, not at all and this is really just who i am, always have been a joker and i like to have fun but not meant to hurt anyone.

i think big and so i act it, nothing more.

thanks steve and i was out of line the other day. sorry about that.

Sir Preston aka Roadhouse aka The Punisher aka King Kong aka Doc Holliday aka Wyatt Earp aka Ardor (n, a fierce heartbeat) aka Johnny Law aka The Predator aka The Transporter aka Genghis Khan aka Le Bicylettinator aka When Harry met Sally aka Enzyte (natural male enhancement) and for my dog in the pic with the jerseys, aka Pumpkinator once upon a time.

    Preston.

  8. Steve, I agree with the system 100%, although being a newbie, my opinion is not much relevant 🙂.
The only other suggestion that I would make, would be to NOT allow one single IP address to be able to make multiple screen names. This way that one person would not be able to have those multiple occurances within that 10 day period (or sometimes even 1 day 🙂).

Just my 2 cents, I know it's easier said than done.

Thanks for all of your work on the forums.

    -Greg

  9. damn, i was also roadhause and i know i'm missing a few still.

A forum that I used to visit - which will go nameless - has a policy against users creating multiple accounts.

I advise against. I have had emotional issues since my name was changed from Kal-EL.

This little headbanger dude cracks me up!

  13. I'm Spartacus!

  14. Hi, I'm Godot. Someone was supposed to be waiting here for me. Have you seen anyone?

  15. Al Caponent.

  16. There should be no new accounts under the same ip but a different name.
There should be no one banned on this forum. It don't have enough members and posts as it is.
    It do not have enough.
Ban no one. But if you have problems on a thread, close it.

Nope. That won't work. You have to have a way to handle members who are abusive to others.
As of right now, there are 9,759 members. Sure, not all of those members are active or even on this planet any more (RIP boudreaux), but there are plenty of active members. Hell, if only 10% were active, that'd be 975 active members. That's probably a worst case scenario and not the actual case.

  18. Are we so sensitive that we need to be protected from a**holes? Who cares? Civility police?

  19. Civility Police? Yes, everybody has them. Every forum, and most places where you go.
So, it can't be different here. Or it isn't different here.

  20. I haven't been a member of this forum for very long, but from what I've seen so far, the members do a pretty good job of moderating themselves.

Sure there will topics that people feel passionate about, times when people make a witty or an ironic comment but someone else doesn't see the humor and takes offense, and (insert reason here) all the bazillion other ways people have conflicts when they post on an internet forum.

People often misunderstand each other when communicating face to face, so it's just about certain that there will be misunderstandings when you can't see the other person's expression or body language.

I like to hear what other people think, whether I agree with them or not. I prefer intelligent discourse over a cyber playground shoving match, but if other folks like to do that, then I can always close the thread.

I decide whether to continue reading or not. 🙂
